Here in Central New Mexico, up to 75 percent of the funds donated remain here in our six county service area to cover every step of the breast health journey - from education, outreach, mammograms and diagnostics, to surgeries, chemotherapy, radiation and material and financial support like meals, mortgage payments, child care, prosthetics and wigs.  The remaining 25 percent of each dollar donated funds international research.  In fact, next to the U.S. government, Susan G. Komen for the Cure is the largest funder of breast cancer research in the world.  

 Deadline has passed for the submission of the RFA's.

The 2011-2012 Central New Mexico Grant Cycle awarded $220,000 to nine non profit organizations who provide screening, treatment and education to those who need it most. Through these funds more New Mexican women and men are better able to access breast cancer services.
